Billy Joe, you were the very first friend I lost after graduation. So many of our friends were also going to MTSU and living in the dorm. I don't know about you, but I couldn't afford it......so you drove your car and I drove mine, back and forth.
When the patriotism bug bit me, I was sitting in the dorm where our friends Doug Wells, Jim Cathey, David Orr, and David Parrish lived, watching the evening news with the tracers flying across the rice paddies in Vietnam. Soon I was off to the Marine Corps! Imagine my shock when my Mom sent me the clipping from the Gazette with the story of your crash in Deason! I sat there in my barracks speechless.
I think of you often and what a good friend you were. Rest in Peace my Dear Friend, God Bless your Youthful Soul.............
